Homing process

Please note: We cannot currently accept applications for people that have a cat, as we already have a waiting list. Thank you for your understanding.

The steps below provide an overview of our homing process and how this works:

1. Getting in touch

Contact us by email or give us a call and we can get the process started for you by sending you a pre-adoption questionnaire to fill out.  This will help us assess your lifestyle, which in turn will help us match the right dogs to you.

2. Pairing process

Once the form has been completed and sent back, we will see if any of the dogs currently in the kennels will pair up to you.

If they do, we will invite you to the kennels to meet them. If we don’t have anything suitable, we will put you on the waiting list and when new dogs arrive, we will check the waiting list again.

3. Getting to know the dogs

We will make an appointment with you to come to the kennels to meet the dogs.

You will be able to take them out on a walk. When you get back, you can have a play in the run with them - allowing you to see how they interact off lead.

Hopefully, one of the dogs you have seen will bond with you. We suggest going home and talking about it that evening and then contacting us the next day to let us know which dog you would like to reserve.

4. Home check

This is one of the most important parts of the process, as it ensures that everything in your home is safe for a new arrival.

It isn’t a test, so please don’t be concerned - we normally just check the fences and give you any advice on what you may need to move to safety out of the greyhound’s reach.

5. Paperwork and home time

Once the home check has been signed off, we will arrange a day for you to come to the kennels to collect your new addition.

There will be two pieces of paperwork to sign on the day, and a donation of a minimum of £190.

All the greyhounds are neutered, microchipped and vaccinated, deflead and wormed, with dental work carried out if needed. All dogs come with four weeks’ free Petplan insurance, a leather collar and lead set and a muzzle.
